November 2011 - Microsoft Software Asset Management Review, please don't ignore - 16/11/2011
During the last couple of months we have seen an increase in the number of our customers being contacted directly by Microsoft regarding their software audit (SAM).
Unfortunately their initial communication (normally in the form of a letter) looks a little suspect as other companies are also sending out similar letters/emails regarding software licensing. This has led several customers to ignore the communication and not carry out the audit.
Luckily Microsoft seem to be very understanding and in all cases so far, have chased the customer via email and offered an extension to the deadline of the audit.
If you have received an email or letter from Microsoft (see the link below for a sample) then please act on it. If you want to double check its authenticity, there should be contact numbers in the communication.
While the process is fairly simple in principle, the documents which need to be completed and the amount of information they require can be a little daunting and confusing. Over the last year IMEX have consulted, assisted or completely carried out the audit for many of its customers.
If you have been contacted by Microsoft and would like to discuss the process or get more information on what's required then please get in touch for a no obligation chat.
