To configure your Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync / Office365 email account on your iPhone , iPad or iPod Touch, follow these steps:

  1. On your iPad/iPhone/iPod, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.
  2. Enter your fully qualified e-mail name (eg. into both the Email and Username fields and your password. Click Next. Enter the information in the fields below, then hit next.
  3. Your iOS device will now try to locate your Exchange Server using the Auto-discover feature. If this feature is not enabled on your on-premise Exchange install you may need more information to continue so please contact your systems administrator.
  4. You can now customize the items that the iPad/iPhone will synchronise. Unless you have a limited data tariff there is no reason not to synchronise them all.

At this point you can access Exchange / Office 365 just like any other e-mail account on your iPhone/iPad. You will have full synchronised access to the contacts, calendar and e-mail.

Note: To modify your exchange settings, Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select your Exchange account, and tap Account Info.

Also note that prior to iOS5 the iPhone / iPad will only allow one Microsoft Exchange account to be configured.

If you have an existing Exchange account, you will have to remove it before adding the Exchange / Office 365 account.
