3rd Line Technical Support Analyst Vacancy
We have an opening for an enthusiastic and customer focused Technical Support Analyst to join our growing technical team.
£25-34k per annum + car and benefits
The successful candidate will have at least 5 year’s commercial IT support experience, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, server and desktop hardware, cloud technologies (online backup/DR/email) and a good understanding of networking.
Microsoft qualifications are highly desirable and would be an advantage. This is an excellent position for the right candidate wishing to pursue an IT career with a growing company. The role is 50% field based and 50% in-house at our new offices in Swindon.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support on desktop infrastructure and Microsoft Servers
- Setup, deployment, update and maintenance of Windows based systems.
- Create and maintain IT related documentation for all systems
- Managing and maintaining virtualized environments (mainly Hyper-V)
- Monitoring, support, and maintenance of core servers and services
- Backups and disaster recovery systems
- Network infrastructure (both on site and inter site – e.g. VPN, Firewall and Routers)
- Project delivery and implementation of hardware/software related projects
- Be available for out-of-hours support via the on-call rota, very attractive rates
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical support / client management role
- Previous experience in both end-user and infrastructure IT support activities essential
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server including virtualisation to MCSA level
- Excellent knowledge of Network technologies (IP, Switching, Routing, Internet, VPN, MPLS)
- Good understanding of security solutions (McAfee, Symantec)
- Experience of managing and supporting cloud based solutions (backup/DR/email)
- Proven background in delivering projects and consultancy to clients as their trusted advisor
- Ability to work in high pressure environments individually and as part of a team.
